Lynn the Archer
03:45
|
|||
Now here’s a girl
Soft foot to forest lair
I like this girl
Lynn the archer fair
Like a willow she’s bending
Nimble fingers long and soft
Her allure never ending
Luscious nectar rising waft
Reveal the morning
See her down in the market square
Reveal night’s dawning
Bathing pool quite bare
Come upon the water’s edge
Prowess revealed is mine
Little struggle shoreline ledge
Twining charms of the vulpine
Never want another
Finally found my way
If you think, don’t bother
Tied to the archer’s sway
In the barn round the back
She was hiding amongst the straw
Surprised me with an attack
Loved me till I was raw
Artemis, the literal
There’s a reason for my love
The archer keeps the vigil
It’s her thought I’m thinking of
She bends to and fro like a song
I can move her round like pie
Her belly’s soft and warm
As I fill her up inside

Misshapen Room
03:34
|
|||
In my misshapen room there’s one chair and one stool
No bed to speak of, one hanging light one hundred watts
I’d like to lay down my weary head
But I’ve got to keep moving to the corners of my misshapen room
Through the cracks in the floor I hear the voices calling
There’s no dust on the floor, but there is cobweb with the fungus and mold
A roof that lets the rain in on my brain
And the windows are covered in coal
In my misshapen room there’s one chair and one stool
No bed to speak of, one hanging light one hundred watts
I’d like to lay down my weary head
But I’ve got to keep moving to the corners of my misshapen room
When the vice tightens and the wedge is widening
I move to the next corner, try to strip away the old
But I move down a path descending
And non-light breaks the fragments of mending
Guide ropes frayed and torn so long ago
What have I to say for not being bold, am I mold, will I go, how can I know?
Is my fear just a raven in my nest
Flapping its wings and breaking through my chest
Since everyone else is so fine
This wrongful illusion must be all mine
And what can I say but sorry
I can’t pick myself up, I just worry, but I don’t wish this on anyone, not even me, do I need Thorazine, how could this be?

Wooden Ship
05:11
|
|||
Many years ago, when I was not so old you know, a green robed rider came across the sea.
He said to me, gotta be free, gotta take life for all it's worth, and see what you can see.
He was a black magic cat from the Emerald Isle.
Don't you know, I took his advice; and now on life's gonna be real nice
Essence was his dream, there was nature in his work you see, he said man make your heaven on this earth
He was a black magic cat from the Emerald Isle.
(Chorus)
Got my wooden ship, I got my soul
Got my wooden ship, I got my pot of gold.
It's the twentieth century; alive 4000 yrs. you see; can’t believe where man has gotten to
Need to get back, back on the track, take hold of my destiny and be
He was a black magic cat from the Emerald Isle.
So I called, that green robed sidhe, and he came just as fast as he could be
He said to me, gotta be free, journey to Glorfindel’s garden across the sea
He was a black magic cat from the Emerald Isle
(Repeat Chorus)
Met a girl, she was my world, an elfin princess this little girl
Now I'm free, free to be, and the world can fall away to the sea
And you know, a little love, never hurt nothin, in a dark dreamer like me
He was a black magic cat from the Emerald Isle
(Repeat Chorus)

Elf in the Kitchen
04:11
|
|||
A knock came upon my door today
Got up to see, but there was no one there
Tried to sit back down to me quietly
Something from the corner it stares
Lime faced demon in my fireplace
Sifting through the ash of another din
Say, what are you looking for me ghastly face
Down in the drums no me never sin
Up from the lake front ye came
A drunken sailor is to blame
Catch fast jack rippin off me candlesticks
Runnin through the house rippin out all the bricks
Love, there's an elf in the kitchen
Molly, lift your dress skirts high
Be careful where you step
Don't look into his eye
Molly, there's an elf in the kitchen
Love, there's an elf in the kitchen
Stand on that chair there
Watch him nippin at your ankles fair
Molly, there's an elf in the kitchen
From where wild storms came
The wicked wind whispers his name
But the cobbler of Clare doesn't answer to anyone
With his castles of gold despair he builds his fun
Chased him through the pantry
And out onto the back landing
Up on the thatched roof and into the bedroom
Dumb as a door the cornered bridegroom
Bottle of whiskey for the sailors dare
A treasure chest filled with seaweed and mermaid hair
Proud toe sewed bells ringing down the front stair
Molly in the kitchen still standing on that chair

Return to Ennis

As I walked past my wife the other day
I dreamt myself into a long ago
I was wondering where my life, it had gone astray
I was a child back in nineteen hundred and twelve
Mary Mary, where did our love go?
Mary Mary, why can't I feel you anymore?
It doesn't seem like all that long ago
As I walked through the woods the other day
I saw dead leaves that I did know
Then from a darkened brook the sun rose to the sky
My life was a burned, bracken brier sown
Mary Mary, where did our love go?
Mary Mary, why can't I feel you anymore?
It doesn't seem like all that long ago
In my dream I am a Father by the shore
I have three children of my own
There is another that I cast out on the shore
I never understood why I wished he'd go
Mary, Mary where did our love go
Mary Mary why can't I feel you anymore
It doesn't seem like all that long ago
Was I born into a time that hurt my shine?
I contemplate this as I bleed upon a star
Or was I victim of my own demonic mind
No matter what the fate I must go far
Mary, Mary where did our love go
Mary, Mary why can't I feel you anymore
It doesn't seem like that long ago
Mary, Mary where did our love go
Mary, Mary why can't I feel you anymore
It doesn't seem all that long ago
Though I'm a Million miles from home

Abandoned Architecture
06:19
|
|||
Take a look into the waters there; brothers and companions, stones of the years
I can see the depths and the future it does show
As my time nears, tell me, I must know
Father, how could you abandon your architecture?
No more people here, since eons long ago
My frozen stare tells more than you should know
Take these chains and cast them into the sea
I have wings to fly, but the world still keeps me
The earth it falls away
Is this the price to pay?
The eastern wall falls away
But the turret holds its sway
Another moon, another sun, what does it mean to me
Eyes that stare and mock through the dusk and dawn of days
Born to live forever, oh how could they see?
Nature draws me back; I’ll ride the white sea spray
Take a look into the waters there; brothers and companions, stones of the years
I can see the depths and the future it does show
As my time nears, tell me, I must know
Father, how could you abandon your architecture?
Time is passing a rictus smile happening
Eyes that never blink, a fang bearing shriek
Look into the water now, brothers and companions fly
As they call to me, I know that soon I’ll be free
The earth it falls away
Is this the price to pay?
The northern wall falls away
But the turret holds its sway

I've lived so long, don't even wonder why
Waiting in the court, I've served out my time
A string, some porridge, an open fire
Have kept me from the flies
We've waited so long lads, singing out these tunes
Playing with the dogs; flirting with handmaidens
To keep ourselves amused
But the Jester doesn't come; the King looks quite upset
Feel a cold wind calling, swinging someone by the neck
Flowing through the castle halls, the King is off his throne
Called the guard to his side, down the stairs and into another room
Searching for the Jester, looking for the Queen
But the King won't reveal passages, betwixt and between
King sits back upon his throne, beaten broken battered down
The jester's nowhere to be found
The time looks bad for us lads, doesn’t look like we'll be going on
Should we get the truth out now, or let these fools rage on and on
Sneak out there now Anne, while us we wait inside
Tell they of our plight, let them know us by our cries
Will the lovers let us die, for what they've done tonight?
Tarot woman, hanging man, dark cauldron, weaving sister’s hand
Flowing through the castle halls, the King is off his throne
Called the guard to his side, down the stairs and into another room
Searching for the Jester, looking for the Queen
But the King won't reveal passages, betwixt and between
King can't go to his throne, hallway wall has come undone.
Offering mere shell of empty room
Darkly lit by slits, rising to the moon
Fallen lovers cast in thronging hall
Still didn't save us from our doom

Petit Chien

|

Where are you going now?
When will you return, when?
You bend like a willow blown
Black colors come vibrant bright
Sweet pain comes to me then
Feel the ashes, Oh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
What is that lament upon your skin
When will we play again?
Petite Chien
Beautiful misery
Sweet dark agony
When will you come again?
You cannot leave
See that you are so tied to me
Like an instrument tuned to another time
Scattered rose petals around you
And bits of white heat when
You call a silver chain
Where will you find that again?
What is there I can say
You've seen what was me
You've been what you could be
